NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V571000 Vehicle was sold to me new with recall remedy NOT complete
The contact owns a 2022 Jayco Jayflight RV. The contact stated while opening the electric retractable awning, the fabric separated from the rails on the camper. The dealer was contacted and stated that the failure experienced was not related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V571000 (Structure). The camper was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a claim was filed; however, the manufacturer denied the repair of the RV. The contact was informed that the camper had not experienced the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V571000 (Structure). The failure mileage was 20.

Sudden and permanent brake failure on the electric trailer brakes. Jayco dual axle RV/Camping trailer w/electric brakes (Lippert 3500lb axles) * Electric Brake wires that connect the left and right brakes are run through the axle tubes * The wires are not shielded and can bounce up and down within the axle tubes * Eventually the thin insulation on the wires is denigrated and the the electric brake circuit shorts to ground causing sudden and permanent brake failure with out warning * This situation can have a catastrophic effect on not only the operator of the tow RV but to the motoring public …
