I purchased a 2020 Newmar Dutchstar RV on [XXX] and first noticed the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sytem (TPMS) start to malfunction shortly after. The first indication of the malfunction were nuisance warnings stating tire overheat conditions, followed by constant communication warnings and multiple tires not indicating anything at all. The current state of the TPMS as of today [XXX] is it does not function at all with a constant communication error displayed on the dash panel. I received SF644A-C from DTNA in March 2022 stating the TPMS controller software required an update and some antenna …
The contact owns a 2020 Newmar Dutch Star RV. The contact stated that while the RV was parked and occupied, the contact attempted to start the RV and became aware that the instrument panel was displaying a black screen. The dealer was contacted. The RV was not taken to a dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the RV was out of warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.
Passenger entry door seal has failed and window is fogged making lane changing or viewing very difficult and unsafe. I have tried to contact Newmar and their reply was giving me a statement that my coach is out of warranty and I need to contact a 3rd party vendor for replacement at my cost. I would think a window separation would be a concern for Newmar Corp. I have read many other complaints from Newmar owners.
The dash displaying the instrument panel is bubbling up and it prevents you from reading your instruments. The glare it causes is dangerous. Hearing from other customers that own the same RV tells me this is a common issue and there should be a recall.
I WAS UNABLE TO DIM THE DASH CLUSTER LIGHTS BELOW 100% BRIGHTNESS USING THE MANUFACTURER SUPPLIED DIMMING CONTROLS. I ATTEMPTED ADJUSTMENTS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A FREEWAY WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON, WHILE PARKED IN A REST AREA WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND HEADLIGHTS ON AND OFF, AND WITH THE IGNITION ON ACCESSORY WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING. THIS CREATES DANGEROUS BRIGHT GLARE TO THE DRIVERS EYES MAKING DRIVING VERY DIFFICULT AT NIGHT.
