What is counted

Each number below counts distinct NHTSA campaigns, not vehicles and not repairs. A campaign is counted when it lists a model year in the window 2015 to 2026. The year used for grouping is the year the manufacturer's report was received by NHTSA, not the year the owner letter went out.

A campaign can be counted under more than one parent if it lists brands of both. For that reason the parent rows can add up to more than the 800 total.

What "inherited" and "equipment" mean

Own means the recall was filed under the RV brand's own name for that model year.

Inherited means the coach is mapped to a chassis in our reference table from a recall notice, and the chassis maker filed the recall for the same model year. The recall is about the chassis, such as a Ford, Freightliner or Spartan platform, not about the coach body. The inherited share is the inherited campaigns divided by that parent's campaigns.

Equipment means a recall of a part or accessory that we link to an RV by a reviewed rule. The equipment share is the equipment campaigns divided by that parent's campaigns.

Parent company notes

The parent groupings follow the ownership research in our parents notes. Terex is treated as the current parent of the former REV Group RV brands. That rests on trade press reports, not on a filing we could open, so the confidence is medium. Other ownership statements on this site carry their own confidence labels on the owner pages.

Method and limits

• The counts come from NHTSA flat files released September 19, 2026 (2026-09-19), matched to launch families by a reviewed alias list.
• Counts are records, not rates. They are not divided by units sold, and the site gives no scores or rankings of quality.
• A parent with more brands or more model years will have more campaigns, so the table does not compare how safe any parent's vehicles are.
• Canadian notices are separate records with their own IDs and are not part of these counts.
• The absence of a recall in this dataset does not establish that a vehicle is safe.
